Today, Emily is sharing a fabulous hanging banner she created using the March Lucky Girls kit, "Homemade Happiness"

I used a chipboard book that I have had, but hadn't used yet since I don't make as many mini-albums as I used to. I covered one side of each of the pieces with my papers, cut off the excess and sanded all of the edges of each piece for a distressed look. I already had the chipboard letters in my stash, and they were self adhesive, but I used a glue gun to adhere them. I highly recommend a low temp glue gun when creating things you want to last! Especially if they are for around the house.

All of the extra embellishments in the March kit were wonderful when decorating each piece. I clustered embellishments around each of the letters so there wouldn't be so much negative space around them. I learned I had to be careful though about how I clustered my embellishments, because if I clustered them all the same it just wouldn't look as good. I also used Natalie's wet paper pleating technique by spraying my strip of patterned paper with glimmer mist instead of water before adding it to the bottom of the "M" piece. I must say, this technique works REALLY well when doing paper pleating. I have used it several times since! :)

After I had everything put together, the last part was using the twine to hook all of the pieces together. I will tell you a secret... I had to use some adhesive to help keep the twine on the backs of the pieces.... I couldn't find a way to keep the twine from flipping around the other side without either adhering it or punching another hole in each piece. I didn't want the extra hole. But using the glue gun worked wonders!

I hope you have enjoyed my project for this Friday, and I can't wait to see how you are inspired by my creation!! Be sure to link your projects up below :)
